ANIMATED INSIGHTS BY SHANNON MUIR – Wondercon 2018 Special Report

Normally the third Tuesday of the month, ANIMATED INSIGHTS BY SHANNON MUIR takes you inside Shannon’s latest reflections on writing, animation, and life in general. This month, due to Wondercon being later in the month, the timing has moved to bring a Wondercon 2018 Special Report. To catch up on all posts, check out the Animated Insights portion of the website!

I hadn’t set the bar as high as normal for Wondercon 2018. There wasn’t any big particular event my husband and I planned on going to in terms of panels. We’re also not big cosplay people ourselves, though we appreciate the work of others.

What it did give us was a luxury either of us rarely have, and that was to appreciate what was going on around us. It afforded us extra moments to stop and take a look at the cosplayers around us. We stopped in and listened to different types of panels, since there were no conflicts with our favorites. It also provided some amazing opportunities to catch up with old friends and meet new ones as well.

In short, Wondercon proved to be a good balance of work and play, maybe even with an extra tilt to the play column. Hope everyone who went enjoyed it as much as I did.

Until next month, at the regular time,

Shannon
