Tuesdays, ANIMATED INSIGHTS BY SHANNON MUIR takes you inside Shannon’s latest reflections on writing, animation, and life in general. To catch up on all posts, check out the Animated Insights portion of the website! This installment follows up on her earlier post about binge-watching animated series.
As promised a while back, I’ve returned to the subject of binge-watching animated series. However, I have yet to actually pursue watching several new series in a binge viewing and be able to compare them. Having unexpectedly been home sick over the past few days, I caught up on the latest season of a series I was catching up on during the last column.
I will say I’ve liked the ability to follow an entire season in a short sitting. It makes it easier to see where things are headed with story, and I don’t have to spend time trying to be certain I recall what may have happened an episode or two back correctly. All the details are current and clear. That said, I may not always understand what the point of things are even with the fresh perspective. This comparison holds for both the series I recently stopped watching and my experiences binge-watching VOLTRON: LEGENDARY DEFENDER.
I still want to see a couple more series before I mention this particular one I just reviewed, but given the time I’ve had lately – or not – not quite sure when that will be yet. Just keep following every week to find out.
Until next time~
