Sandwiched between the Halloween animated specials and Christmas specials are a handful of Thanksgiving specials, none more iconic than A CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING. Similar to the situation at Halloween, the special’s rights are still controlled by Apple TV+ where it has streaming rights, and a small free streaming windows.
However, after considerable backlash over the Halloween special, Apple has struck one day only deals with PBS for the airing of the iconic Thanksgiving and Christmas specials.
A CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING will be available on PBS and PBS KIDS on November 22nd, 2020 at 7:30PM local time; A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS will also be made available on PBS and PBS KIDS on December 13, 2020, at 7:30PM local time.
No word on if similar deals will be struck for any other specials, or if the same deal will happen again next year.
