When I decided as a teenager to become an author, I never realized how much I would need to put myself in front of the public eye to sell myself and my work. I liked creating new worlds and characters, and didn’t see any reason why that couldn’t be done in isolation.
Over the course of the last two decades, I found myself arguably thrust into situations I may not have been ready for, but passionate enough to not back down from the challenges. Through it all, I’ve become keener to both my strengths and limitations, and even today know I have much left to learn.
In the next installment, I’ll take you to the very beginning of my adult life, where I wound up in my first situations speaking to smaller audiences beyond just class assignments… low powered college radio.
