Secret Series – Tagline

A series of secrets, invisible yet glaring, and most include a Supernatural spin, like an unwelcomed sensation sparking every nerve ending.

What initially got you interested in writing?

DK – English and literature were my favorite classes in school, so perhaps my high school English teacher, Mr. O’Neill, set my direction – he scared me by calling on me. At the time I thought it was to embarrass me (because it always did, my face blazed over every time) – which in the end, made me study that much harder.

How did you decide to make the move into being a published author?

DK – I resigned from a production manager’s position of twenty years to follow my dream of writing for young adults. I believe the Universe stepped in and redirected my way as my position at the company became consistently difficult, throwing one obstacle after another at me. Until…I said “uncle” and discussed with my husband something that would feed my creativity. Thankfully my husband is my number one supporter: )

What do you want readers to take away from reading your works?

DK – My hope is for readers to resonate so deeply with the story-stars, inside and out, that the reader might think of them long after the story ends.

What do you find most rewarding about writing?

DK – I absolutely love working with my story-stars, uncovering their story and discovering the nuggets of treasures buried within it.

What do you find most challenging about writing?

DK – Fitting everything to do with writing into a system that works for me. I’m honing it, and not quite there yet. Fitting in marketing/promotion/writing the story/ submitting – what can I say, it’s what all authors have to deal with…and I’m not set in my system of it, but close: )

What advice would you give to people want to enter the field?

DK – Be a sponge with the craft (learn from others, read books on writing, take workshops or a few on-line courses), and keep writing to hone your style and voice.
