The SHANNON MUIR’S INFINITE HOUSE OF BOOKS weekly column is a place at Shannon Muir’s author website open to interviews and guest posts from other authors. One thing Shannon firmly believes in for readers not only to learn about new books available, but about those who craft the tales behind them. As its name implies, SHANNON MUIR’S INFINITE HOUSE OF BOOKS weekly column features writers from all genres of fiction who want their potential audience to get to know them, and their works, better – and occasionally may offer features from Shannon herself that support readers to discover words.
As a special feature to complement the journal writing blog posts done as part of OWN YOUR OWN TALE, this week features an interview with someone who has created a journal for sale and what motivated her to do so.
Welcome back Alexsys Thompson, creator of THE TRYBAL GRATITUDE JOURNAL which was profiled previously. Now, having released a follow-up journal to the original called TRYBAL GRATITUDE JOURNAL 2, she shares with us more about her own personal interests in writing and her thoughts on the importance of using a journal.
DISCLAIMER: While OWN YOUR OWN TALE strives to expose readers to different ideas and methods for writing journals and the use of journals, it does not specifically advocate any journal, method, or practice.

INTERVIEW
What initially got you interested in writing?
I have journaled, written short poems and short stories for most of my life. I wrote these journals to offer a guide to others in getting started or deepening a gratitude practice.
How did you decide to make the move into becoming a published author?
When I started this project, it oddly did not occur to me that what I was doing was leading me towards becoming a published author. The project took on a bit of a life of its own. One I am humbled to be following and honoring with the second journal. This I has indeed opened up a part of my role in this world in a new and lovely way.
What do you want readers to take away from reading your works?
The experience of the power of the a gratitude practice within their lives. As a result they become a part of the ripple of manifesting love and kindness through our globe.
What do you find most rewarding about writing?
Experiencing the very personal experience that every reader/participant has a result of interfacing with my work.
What do you find most challenging about writing?
Creating time and focus for my writing.
What advice would you give to people wanting to enter the field?
To spend time to meet their muse so they have a place to go for connection and inspiration.
Is there anything else besides writing you think people would find interesting about you?
I love to travel and am currently enjoying traveling the US and Canada in our 30ft Airstream with my family.
Do you have a preferred genre you enjoy reading most?
I have just embarked on a more traditional book writing experience and am writing a leadership book through the lenses of gratitude.
ABOUT ALEXSYS THOMPSON
My latest project, the Trybal Gratitude Journal, is a culmination of a lifetime of practice, failure, and more practice. It feels great to be able to share some concepts and rituals I have developed to live my authentic life. Should you choose to take this journey of introspection through the window of a gratitude practice, you, too, will inevitably unveil your authentic self.
My wish for you is to experience the multifaceted magic of gratitude.
Which is exactly why I created the Trybal Gratitude Journal, and why I speak about Gratitude at a variety of events. It was, and continues to be a game changer in my life. If you so choose, it can be in yours, too.
I also founded a company called Trybal Performance. At Trybal, we help you unleash the vibe of your Tryb! We even offer downloadable gratitude coupons you can use to spread the gratitude. To learn more, please visit us at www.trybalperformance.com.
