SPONTANEOUS CHOICES SHORTS – “A Second LaChance” (Part 9 of 16)

Presented by SHANNON MUIR’S INFINITE HOUSE OF BOOKS

SPONTANEOUS CHOICES SHORTS features short serialized fiction by author Shannon Muir, that may be later released as part of e-book or print collections. In 2019, these serials will appear every second and fourth Thursday (and fifth Thursdays as they occur). This week continues a new serialized story, “A Second La Chance,” about a young woman who originally hoped to have the children of a wealthy spoiled man to get paid off to leave him, but ends up with more than she ever bargained for when deciding to take a chance to start a new life for herself. This is part 9 of 16.

WATCH FOR A SPECIAL  MARATHON OF “A SECOND LACHANCE” AS WE RACE TOWARDS THE CONCLUSION MAY 30 TO JUNE 4, 2019 WITH DOUBLE DOSES ON MAY 30 AND JUNE 3, AND A TRIPLE PACKED CONCLUSION ON JUNE 4!
What happened after that was very much a blur.

He guided me into a car, pushed me into the back seat, and then we sped away together.

“Where are we going?” I asked him, as I quickly buckled in for wherever this ride would take me. “Are you taking me to my father like you’ve been insisting on all this time?”

“Not exactly,” he told me. “I’ll let you make the choice. We’ll pull up outside of his place and then I’ll let you decide what you’d like to do next.”

“Won’t you lose your job if I decide not to come and you show up without me?”

“Perhaps,” he admitted. “But the more I try to convince you, the less I want to force you. This really has to be your decision, your life, your chance. I won’t be able to live with myself if I force you into a bad situation.”

“You hardly know me,” I pointed out to him.

“From all your father’s briefed me on you, I know more about you than you think.”

I really didn’t have any way to refute that.
